insatiable and inhuman,
a greedy heart will feast tonight
on flesh that will not satisfy
and turn to sand in the mouth.

but if only to find your company in my loneliness,
your justice in my anger,
your acceptance in my guilt
and your comfort in my breaking.

without these imperfections, i could never hope to know your perfect love.

The endless wasting weight
and hardened hate
of intensive introspection.
Laborious and cruel
this pool of self discovery,
you taunt as you uncover me
and leer in my direction.

::how breathless and how wondrous is the pursuit of eternal life::

i will love you til this heart stops beating,
within this mortal and fragile cage
i will love you til my breath relents
our life on earth is but a day

I wake up in the darkest night
Watch you breathe in shadow light
A perfect world lies next to me
And I don't need to sleep to dream

she walks in beauty, like the night
of countless climes and starry skies,
and all that's best of bright and dark
meets in her aspect and her eyes.

last night's nightmare

(more from lovely photos from sofia ajram's blog)

I think you ought to stay away from here
There are ghosts in the walls
and the crawl in your head through your ear.

I think I saw you in my sleep, darling,
I think I saw you in my dreams
You were stitching up the seams
On every broken promise that your body couldn't keep,
I think I saw you in my sleep.

I have loved the stars too fondly,
to be fearful of the night.

happiness is an evasive little bitch.

I want to run away to a place were it's deathly cold.
I will hide away there until my skin turns translucently pale and my blood runs like icy streams.
I've broken my back trying to lift this,
So I will find a cave and sleep through this winter.

Annabel Lee

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

And the time came

when the risk to remain tight in a bud

was more painful

than the risk it took to blossom.

when all else fails...

like a dying blossom i'm curling up and falling to the earth
knowing that as i die, i'll live again
and this time without the weight of endless effort

The shadows are as important as the light.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

"Ain't this the bloodiest mess in the world?
Said the virgin, a torn little girl.
Boy, you've gone and made a sweet mess of my soul,
And I've already forgiven you.
What a bunch of fools we lovers are
When tempted by the taste of flesh.
My boy you are nothing more than a thief
In a suit of the finest armor."
